〔 〕Body, Camera, Improvisation: video-dance research, Open Studio (2024) is a collaborative research project initiated by choreographer Ning Wang and video artist Chih-Hua Chiu. The project explores the power dynamics between dance and the moving image, unfolding through a series of experimental dialogues centered around three key concepts: body, camera, and improvisation.
The process-oriented project touches on multiple themes, including the ontology of video, mise-en-scène, choreography, bodily archiving, reenactment, affective flow, intimacy, and found footage. Rather than aiming for a fixed outcome, the work emphasizes experimentation and process as the core of its methodology.
The final phase of the project culminated in a 4-day intensive workshop, designed as a platform for public engagement and collective reflection. Through an open call, participants were invited to participate in thematic discussions, improvisational movement practices, and hands-on video experiments. These sessions opened up space for shared inquiry and multilateral dialogue around the evolving intersections of dance, camera, and embodied presence.
〔隙：身體、相機、即興 ─── 舞蹈實驗影像初探〕是一項由舞蹈創作者王甯發起，並邀請影像創作者丘智華協作參與的創作研究計畫，聚焦於舞蹈與影像兩種媒材之間的權力關係，並以「身體、相機、即興」為核心關鍵字展開實驗對話。計畫進程觸及多項主題，包括錄像性、場面調度、編舞、身體檔案、重演（reenactment）、流動共感、親密性與拾棄物件（found footage）等。
本計畫為一以「過程」為導向的實驗性實踐，計畫尾聲以密集四天的「開放工作室」作為階段性成果分享。透過公開招募參與者，結合議題討論、即興身體練習與影像拍攝實作等活動，開啟對創作歷程的集體思考與多方對話。
